AFTERMATH Advisory Alphabet

Description

My thesis explores how typefaces can strengthen the communication of urgent messages, particularly for natural disaster awareness. As climate change fuels more extreme weather, public understanding remains limited despite its importance for preparedness. Through studying how typography shapes perception, I show how type can make life-saving information more effective and engaging. I created Aftermath: Advisory Alphabet, a display font family made from disaster-related materials, featuring three progressively weathered styles. The project is showcased through a newspaper and a bold poster campaign, merging design with environmental advocacy to reimagine how critical information is distributed.
